I’m delighted to announce that Four Old Geezers And A Valkyrie is to be made into a movie by the acclaimed director Danny Boyle, famous for Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, and – more recently – Steve Jobs. Like the book, the film will be set in Edinburgh and will star Ken Stott as Captain, Emma Thomson as Jane, as well as Sharon Small, Denis Lawson, Ewan MacGregor, Gregor Fisher and a host of other well-known names, including one-time TV comedian Jimmy Krankie who is reputedly slated to play Tam Cantlay.

The soundtrack will feature songs from the book itself, meaning that readers will not only hear the famous Right Hear Lovin’ Me and the Saturday Blues, but also songs from the Little Joe Mackay Songbook of Rasta-Jock.

Filming is due to begin next year. Hold tight – we’ll keep you informed!
